The third national campaign for the prevention of cardiovascular disease is launched

Beirut, February 26, 2019: Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Public Health Dr. Jamil Jabbak, the Ministry of Public Health, in cooperation with the National Committee for the Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases and the Yadna Center for Women's Heart Health, launched the annual national campaign for early detection of cardiovascular diseases In the Adnan al-Qasar building for the Arab economy. Under the slogan "Let your heart beat a life," the campaign was launched on February 26 and continues until 31 May 2019. It targets the Lebanese over the age of forty-five and receives them at the Ministry's primary health care centers.

"The Ministry of Public Health is launching today the National Campaign for the Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases in cooperation with the Yadna Foundation - Women's Heart Health Center, with a team from the Ministry of Public Health," said Dr. Randa Hamadeh, Cardiac and cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death in Lebanon by 47%, with 16% of the Lebanese people suffering from these diseases, and today's activity is complementary to all efforts and meets in its preventive division with the Yadna Foundation to achieve integration between all sectors. to Secretary of the better health of the citizen! ".

The third national campaign for the early detection of cardiovascular diseases in Lebanon is scheduled for 45 years. The primary health care centers of the Ministry of Public Health will provide a package of free medical examinations and examinations for the early detection of cardiovascular disease. Our Foundation will play an important role in the reception of Lebanese women who have exceeded the overall risk of cardiovascular disease (10%) to complete the examinations and perform the required tests free of charge. In the campaign, a team of doctors will carry out awareness-raising educational campaigns in primary health care centers throughout Lebanon.

"Since its inception, Yadna has made the difficult choice of convincing the Lebanese citizen to adopt pro-active prevention as a way to combat cardiovascular disease," said Wafa Sulaiman, President of Yadna. "This is the third national campaign of the National Commission for the Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases - this committee, which Yadna Foundation has sought to establish with the Ministry of Public Health in 2015," she said.
